My Boa Constrictor ate a Live Rat and...........?

Well, my 1 year old 4 foot boa (BCI) stopped eating frozen/ thawed for me, so I decided to give him a live rat to kick him back into eating. He ate it fine and nothing went wrong. My question is, will he go back on frozen/thawed or is he now going to be stuck on live now? I don't mind feeding the occasional live rat, but not every time he has to eat. I have had him since he was a month old and he use to eat fine on frozen thawed, never missed a meal, until I move across Canada, and suddenly he is being all picky with food. Will he go back to his normal self and stop being so picky? I'm scared that now he has had a live rat he won't eat frozen thawed anymore.
